Rev. Ileeni Benjamin and His Ministry, Calvary Commission India
"The Lord called Rev. I. Benjamin, the founder of Calvary Commission India through his word from Jer. 1:4-10"
Tragedy struck Benjamin when he lost his mother at the tender age of six. His father was a poor village pastor, has reluctantly placed him in a Christian boarding school. This rather unexpected event at an early age enabled him to experience the extremes of pain and heartache of separation. In addition to the same, he grasped well the deep love of Christ and his people well aided by the great tonic of love, which transforms the life of a child.
With this intense experience, at age 14 saw him devote his life to Christ and being born again in his home state of Andhra Pradesh. When he completed high school and collage he received a call to go to full time ministry and placed a greater sense of responsibility on his tender shoulders and instilled in him a desire to make a complete study of the word of God. Towards this, he went to Bharat Bible Collage where the Holy Spirit touched his life with a missionary call to reach the over one billion people of India with Gospel. He earned his graduation in 1980 and went on to complete his masters in Christian studies from South Asia Institute of Advanced, Christian Studies in Bangalore in the year 1985.
